Best Houston bank for small business checking?
Enrico’s favorite private school is very unhappy with its bank. The bank will go unnamed, but let’s just say it is one of the many banks which recently failed and is now being assimilated by another allegedly healthier bank.
The employees were mostly surly and incompetent before, especially the Californians, and the systems were abysmally bad, but now the incompetence and the parade of morons has reached a whole new depth. Plus, they aren’t lending.
This bank was selected by the small non profit private school for two reasons: free checking, and it was one of the few, perhaps the only bank, which could be found which pledged not to attempt to extract a fee from a school employee who presented his paycheck to be cashed at the bank.
Enrico was highly enraged when he learned that some of the school’s employees were being victimized in this way. He singed many a desk in expressing his displeasure over this outrageous piece of bullying, and the perpetrator bank was promptly and noisily fired.
But now the unbelievable incompetence and apathy of the new bank have reached an intolerable level.
Enrico sadly concludes that the days when reasonable service and free checking could be found together are finished for now. He will grit his teeth and advise his favorite non profit to PAY for checking.
The question is, which Houston bank should be tried first? A smaller, more local bank is preferred, and a bank which attempts to extract a fee from an employee for cashing his payroll check will simply not be tolerated, and will be mocked and abused relentlessly.
The account is fairly active, with items numbering in the hundreds routinely, and a balance of about $75k is maintained.
Any suggestions?
